STA’SAX

STA’SAX (also known as ‘Stamina li’) is a saxophone player who inherits the knowledge, love & passion for the music since a very early age from his beloved father, himself a saxophoniste, flute player and accomplished musician from Madinina (Martinique, W.I.). Inspired by Jazz, Chouval Bwa(Bele Drum-Tibwa RhythmSticks-Q&A Vocal), Blues, Compas, and Biguine&Marzuka from the Caribbean, his first ‘music bible’ (from which he experienced the hardship & magic of the craft) was the reknown “Charlie Parker Omnibook”.

Yet far from the high level set by the latter, Sta’Sax delivers an uncompromising, natural and instantaneously communicated divine inspiration through his sound. Looking up to the great Eugene Mona, La Perfecta, Duke Ellington, His Father, Luther Francois, Sonny Rollins, Dean Fraser, Don Drummond, The Skatalites and of course Charlie Parker as examplary blackprints par excellence; They are the teachers and Sta’Sax is the student with a turbulent but decisive education. Sta’Sax progressed to developed a sound which is recognizable amongst many and finds popularity on the world sound-system scene.

Fully aware of the medicinal and healing powers of the music he is about to bring a fresh element to the cure. Look out for upcoming releases recorded in the Black Legacy Studio by legendary UK producer Keety Roots, as well as for Sir Logie International Records label, just to name few.
