Born Lassive Delroy Jones, May 12 1954 in Kingston Jamaica. I started my musical journey at age 14 while attending Melrose Primary School on Little Kew Road in Kingston where I met Lawrence Weir and Jacob Miller we were all singers in the school choir one day Lawrence suggested that we form a group which we did and called the group “The Young Lads” but that was all changed to “The School Boys” when we did our first recording for top producer Bunny Striker Lee. He suggested that we called the group “The School Boys” because we were still attending school. The songs were “Guilty of Love” and “Oh Tell Me” on the Pama Record label in 1968 which Jacob Miller was Lead Vocalist, Lawrence Weir was founder and Leader. We sang together for about 2 – 3 years, we also recorded three songs for Coxsone which was never released at the time. We separated when Lawrence migrated to the United States of America.

I went on to do my first solo recording at age 16+ for Mighty Clouds Records a song titled “Tears” on the Abeng Label, produce by Bobby Mac for Mighty Clouds Records after that I went on to record for some top labels such as Joe Gibbs, Harry J, Black Beauty, Dennis Star, Rudwill and others. I also performed with some top bands; Skin Flesh and Bones, We the People, Sagittarius, Food Clothes and Shelter and Kyatch a Fyah Band to name a few.
In 1979 I recorded a song titled “Ease up the Pressure” for Rudwill Records. Just as the song started to get the justice it deserves, in the 1980 General Election some politicians used it on their motorcade campaign and it was band and branded by the radio stations.
In 2012 I got a called from a Record Collector from France influence by the name of Joe Safe saying this song is the toughest Roots Rock Reggae he had ever heard and would like to do a re-issue, we did so in 2013 on Jamwax Record Label. This song is growing from strength to strength. The rest is history!
